From Clogged Gutters to Complete Roof Protection in Dundee, Oregon
Challenge
A homeowner in Dundee, Oregon, reached out to our sister company, Klaus Roofing Systems, to have their roof replaced. During the inspection, our Roofing and Gutter Consultant noticed that the home's gutters were heavily clogged with leaves and debris.
Clogged gutters can cause significant damage to both a home's roof and foundation by preventing rainwater from flowing properly. Instead of draining away from the home, water overflows the gutters, increasing the risk of roof leaks, wood rot, erosion, and foundation issues.
Solution
After the inspection, we recommended replacing both the roof and gutter system to protect the home from future water damage. The existing gutters were heavily clogged, preventing rainwater from draining properly and causing water to overflow.
We installed 134 feet of new 5-inch seamless gutters with four 3x4 downspouts to improve water flow and help prevent future clogs. The roof was also replaced since it had reached the end of its lifespan after more than 20 years. The project included five sheets of 4x8 CDX plywood, a new ridge vent to improve attic ventilation, 24 square feet of new soffit, and about 20 feet of rotted fascia replacement.
The homeowner was pleased with the 50-year warranty and appreciated that we addressed the underlying issues instead of simply replacing the roof.
